The Legend of Clancy's

The name Clancy's is derived from a long line of family Irish pubs. In the 1800's, great-great grandfather Walsh had a pub in Ireland. His son Patrick immigrated to the USA by way of Canada and ended up in Plain, Wisconsin. He started his first pub there and was the first mayor. Patrick Walsh had a large family. His youngest son, Clarence, kept up the family tradition by starting a tavern and dance hall in a rural lake area near Plain and was very successful for over 40 years. When Clarence ("Clancy") retired, his 7th child, Bart, and his wife LInda, took over the tavern in Wisconsin.

After moving to Missouri, Linda Walsh and her son Jamie opened Clancy's in Blue Springs in October of 1996. Jamie insisted that the establishment be named "Clancy's" in honor of his Grandpa Clarence back in Wisconsin, now deceased. After building a successful business in the original location (3000 South Outer Road, Blue Springs) there was a need for expansion. The new Clancy's, complete with a banquet room and a game room, opened its doors with Jamie as the sole proprietor in September 2002.
